Hey Boos, Happy Monday! Hope your weekend went well. Today is a fresh start of week, and I wanted to start it off right, with my morning skin care routine. I will be discussing the step by step process of my routine as well as the products I use, and why its sooo important to have a great skin care routine. I suffer with acne til I was 21 years old, my face didn't start looking and feeling better until I started a daily routine for my face (around my teen years I didn't think skin care was important) Now, being a couple years older and wiser I wish I knew sooner! shortly after starting my daily skin care routine I notice my skin was clearing up, looking healthy and I can leave the house with no makeup and feel proud about my bare skin. Enjoy!
Wash Face:
Washing your face in the morning is very important for your skin, you are basically washing whatever else is on your face from the night before, and cleaning any oils or sweat that may have built overnight. (not pictured here) I use either a Cleansing Oil (Extra Virgin Olive Oil) or Acute Care Cleansing Mask, I first start off by wetting my fingers, and put a dime size amount on my hands and gently, in circular motions, rub product on my skin, and I wash it off my face as normal. I switch between Acute Cleansing Mask every other day, to exfoliate my skin, which is also very important to remove any dead skin cells (eww) from your face. If you are having troubles with flaky skin, you might to buy a good exfoliater, trust me that will do the trick, it also works great for the body too :)
Apply Facial Mist or Toner:
Instead of a usual toner, I prefer using a facial mist, this gives your face some extra moisture after washing your face, usually after drying my face, it tends to get very dry. So I use Pur Minerals Hydrate & Set Spray, I just spray two pumps on face and let it dry before going to the next step. You can you any toner, or mist you like, but beware of the ingredients! stay away from high doses of alcohol in your toners and mist, it could irritate the skin. I suggest if you do have sensitive skin, to get a toner or mist without alcohol, and opting in to a cruelty free method, since they usually don't contain no harmful chemicals or dry out your face.
Apply Serum:
Serum is new to me, I just added this to my routine. After reading so many benefits for serums, I decide to try it. and OH! boy I'm glad I did. I just add a small drop in my hand and gently rub all over my face, then wait for it to dry before going on to the next step. This is a important step as well in my routine. I use Valentia's Vitamin C Serum. It helps your skin get the vitamins in desperately needs, I choose vitaman C serum for the simple fact, it works great on my skin, and the key benefits are GREAT! It helps brighten, protect and even skin tone, and reduce the signs of aging. You could use any serum you like, remember everyone's skin is different and its important to find a serum that works well with yours.
Apply Moisturizer:
Moisturizer is also very important for the skin, this will help lock in your serum in place so that vitamins can absorb in your skin. I use Acute Care's Triple Defense Treatment with SPF. I add a dime size amount on my hand and gently rub all over the face. SPF is very important in protecting your skin from the harsh rays of the sun. I always recommend using a moisturizer with SPF for the that simple fact.
What is some of your products you use for your skin care routine?
