Rumors all over the net having been buzzing about L'Oréal Paris has bought out NYX cosmetics. Turns, out, the rumors were true as it was announced today that L'Oréal has agreed to buy NYX cosmetics.
This is sad news for the cruelty free world. NYX cosmetics has been cruelty free since its founding. NYX even has a adorble mascot, Sir Bruce Barkalot! L'Oreal as we all know do test on animals and even does its selling in China, which by law, tests on animals.
I was heart broken to hear this news because some of my products are by NYX. They are very affordable and high quality cosmetics but after this news I will no longer continue to buy from there company for these reasons.
L'Oreal saids, "NYX is a dynamic company that has done a tremendous job of harnessing
the power of social media, digital marketing and multi-channel
distribution. Both L'Oréal and NYX share a passion for innovation and a
confidence in the strength and vitality of the color cosmetics market,"
said Frédéric Rozé, President and CEO of L'Oréal USA.
L’Oréal have managed to get a number of cruelty-free brands over the years, including The Body Shop and Urban Decay.
Hmmm....
I wonder how these changes will play out in the cruelty free market.
What are your thoughts on L’Oreal buying out NYX Cosmetics?
